Flatbed/Skel Trucks are a great solution when the container is out of gauge or non-compliant with Rail. As a Road Freight option, this transport type is invariably more expensive than Rail but gives you much more freedom on your out of gauge or non-compliant container.

Non-compliance generally applies to containers that aren't or can't be CSC'd (certified) for Rail, or are modified in such a way that they don't comply with Rail pre-requisites for safe transit. Out of gauge simply means the container load (on Flat Rack or Open Top for example) exceeds Rail approved measurements that are set beyond the actual measurements of the container (50mm is usually the case).

As a non-self loading vehicle, flatbed/skels either need to be loaded by suitable lifting equipment that you have onsite, or paired with another vehicle such as a Sideloader, Hiab/Crane Truck, or Mobile Franna.
